I'm starting to feel fatigued. We're sticking around the hotel with short trips during the day. We're dining in the hotel, simply because I've eaten so many unexpected things that I crave western style cuisine when I can get it.
I sometimes get like that - and only in Europe.:) No matter how exciting it all is there comes a point when all you want to do is sit and take things easy for a while. I do anyway, then you feel better and want to restart with the stuff that brought you there in the first place.
In the early '50s I took a six-week Grand Tour of the European capitals, ending with a week in Paris. The group went over on the Queen Mary, and was to return the same way. I got bored and opted for return by air, on a DC-8. I had lunch in Paris and dinner at a fuel stop at Shannon in Ireland. I had roast beef, peas and mashed potatoes - distinguishable by form and color, but not by taste. Ugh. Nice to find a western oasis. No McDonald's? I thought they were everywhere.

ReplyDeleteNo. Most people in that part of that part of the world do not eat beef. I saw a Pizza Hut and a KFC. I don't eat that poison anyway.
